Facebook - Machine Learning - Advice

For starters you're going to need to start gaining a sound grasp on math. Make sure your understanding of general calculus conecpts like derivatives and integration are sound. You'll need some linear algebra, too. Make sure you know how to navigate matricies. You'll very likely need to know SQL and Python or R to a degree at which you can at least build a basic model. Also, get some sort of understanding of distributed computing at some point. I presume you'll need an understanding of Hive, too.

Thanks for the advice.. I have good hands on R and I have worked on natural language processing in my thesis and I hope that will help. I will familiarize myself with hive and Python as well.. How easy is to switch team or grow in facebook?.
