I will be going for Facebook on-site interviews in a few days and wanted to understand what to expect in the coding interviews. Is it always expected to do two code questions in a single 45 minute interview, or many do a single longer code question? Can I ask my interviewer this? (I tend to go for well designed and verbose java code, so don’t want to overspend time there. ) I am likely going to be leveled at E4 or E5 based on my experience and current level, in case that affects thin
Better do some stretching because they give it with no Vaseline there
Expect to do 2 coding interviews for sure. You’ll have 2 coding, 1 system design, and 1 behavioral/ career trajectory. In the behavioral interview *sometimes* the interviewer will finish with a warm up coding exercise (only ~10 minutes). Again this is only sometimes and won’t effect your behavioral interview.
Gotchya- that makes sense. Yes usually they’ll try to get through two coding questions. Start with one simple question, gauge how you do, then proceed to a more difficult question. Eg: 1) max profit from stock price with up to buy 1 sell 1 2) max profit from stock price with up to 2 buy and 2 sell See the difficulty range?
I also have an on-site interview with Facebook coming up and my recruiter told me that each coding interview could be one or two questions and it’s totally okay to ask which it will be at the beginning of the interview.
Definitely okay to ask so you can try to manage your time
Hi Friends, if you already went through the interviews you were talking about can you share us some tips? Please shed some light on difficulty and how much of emphasis they are placing in Facebook project knowledge? Thanks.
My interview is next Monday. I will report back.
They like trees and graphs and they prioritize technical skill above passion
Thanks
Your recruiter should have sent you a detailed summary of what to expect and some reading to do before your onsite. If they haven’t ask them for tips and expectations.
