Does anyone know how compensation is determined after graduating from the Rotational Engineering Program? I'm considering turning down a ~$225k-$250k TC offer to join the program because of the growth opportunity and the chance to work at FB, but there doesn't seem to be any sort of opportunity to negotiate or know what it will be on the other side so I'm nervous about leaving too much money on the table.
Also starting the rotational program soon. I asked my friends at FB and apparently if you stay you get hired as an E4, which a salary range around the offer you’re turning down. (225-250 TC) Edit: as some people pointed out, you get hired as an E4, not E5.
That salary range above is about correct . It’s just at the E4 level not E5
This is probably the only downside of the reng program. You completely lose the opportunity to negotiate upon getting your E4 offer at graduation. It's a mid range static E4 offer independent of performance. 150k base, 225 over 4 and 10% bonus so around 225 to 250. You don't vest/get any stock during your rotation. I haven't tried this, but I would bet if you start interviewing towards the end of your rotation, and get a competitive offer, you could likely increase the stock to 300k.
If you have other detailed questions, ask your recruiter to speak to an reng graduate.
What exactly is rENG program? New grad hired as E4 and spend a few months on each of preallocated teams?
It's supposed to be for non traditional candidates like lawyer turned software dev
Would the entrance standards be lower? Less need to Leetcode?
How long is the program?
Year
To clarify, this would be in Seattle
SEA and Bay Area have same comp at Facebook. You can expect 235-250k
