Ok, so FB suggested a friend that is a hiring manager that I have been emailing on a separate account. There is no connection to any of my current friends on FB. That person is a contact on my phone. FB seems to be sniffing up every crack and cranny. I would figure they tone it down a little bc of the current shit they are in. It was really creepy when they suggested him as a friend. Good job Mr. creepyberg
The hiring manager looked you up on Facebook obviously ... can’t believe you don’t realize this
That doesn’t mean much. You’re from msft. You probably resolve everything as by design
Facebook suggests friends based on phone number, especially if you both have whatsapp. I find it really fucking annoying.
Seriously need to delete FB account and app installed on your every single device!
How else to stalk ppl?
HM's contact in your phone (FB have access to your contacts list) and HM looking you up on social media... That played part in the friend suggestion...
I think I saw some article or something where they were showing that Facebook for certain people logs their calls. Considering the NSA is tapped in to Google, Apple, and Facebook, it’s no surprise all this privacy shit is floating to the surface. Privacy died a long time ago, now just happens to be a time when the media chooses to bring it to our attention. To lower Facebook’s stock price? To distract from how Russia used our own technology to manipulate us with propaganda? Who knows
If you installed messenger you allowed messenger acess to your contacts and hence the hiring managers number. Using the phone number its not too hard to trace it back as a friend suggestion esp if the manager had his number set on fb.
I don’t have any contact on my phone. And all friend suggestions on my fb are strangers to me that I have never met nor talked.
Then what’s the point of such suggestions? FB simply uses this strategy to artificially “grow” it network in order to make more ad money.
Contact lists being used to suggest friends is a permission granted on install. Either he had it or you did. This is a feature on almost any communication/social media app.
Fail. This is a facebook privacy invasion special. Not all apps do this and there’s a very clear opt-out.
I mean off the top of my head I know Google, Snapchat, and Twitter will all ask you. Same as fb. I really am suprisied none of you guys know this. The very first screen you see in messenger explicitly asks you if you want to upload contacts. And every messaging app out there.
Coincidence
