I notice that FB starts having android pipeline for the interview process. I don't like UI and it has been a while since I worked on Android Which one is better or easier going through android vs generalist pipeline?
Android is for people who don’t have system or product design experience but do have experience particular to coding for Android. We have a dedicated pipeline so we don’t end up not hiring great engineers who just have a different background. Neither is easier. It depends on your experience and expertise which one will be better for you. The salaries and pay scales are not different and you can join any team regardless of what pipeline you cane in through.
It doesn't matter what pipeline you come through, you don't have to work on that platform once you join. The different pipelines are just to give people the best chance in interviews based on their experience. If you're an experienced android developer, the Android pipeline will be easier. If you aren't go generalist.
I heard android salaries are very high since they are hard to find
The trend has shifted more towards hybrid platform like react native.
Only for shit UI apps.
