Look at the market and yeah Google will be the same very little hiring
Usually it’s the opposite and L5+ are hired regardless of hiring freezes.
I doubt. New grads mostly need sponsorship and big boys would be hesitant to sponsor in this market.
Companies always hire new grads even with layoffs.
Companies never stop college hiring irrespective of recessions etc.
They frequently do. L3 hiring always gets capped first.
@Pomax numbers may go down but it's rarely frozen in my experience. They are relatively cheap and you don't want to complete miss out on the highest potential fresh blood. Experienced hiring can truly be frozen in many parts of a large company.
If anything FB needs more experienced folks.
Has anyone in that thread actually been a part of any company during 2008 and not in high or middle school lol? I've been in G, hiring went down and college hiring stopped, companies need experienced folks regardless. Junior/college hires are costly and unnecessary during recessions. /Thread
Hiring new grads is investing in the future at expense of today. Easy to do when cash is flush. Easy to cut when times are tough.
He’s saying that they will hire new grads but no experienced people though
They heard a rumor. Given FB’s current recent stability, hiring a bunch a newbies would be stupidest thing to do. So I highly doubt the rumor to be true.
That’s not true . Facebook focus is going to be hiring experienced and senior engineers
Probably true. Next year would be tough for everyone.
You mean every company?
Why?
