I want to ask new parents or people in similar boats. What supplement or natural food you took for folic acid as it is recommended before 6 months of pregnancy. Thanks!
As soon as my wife took that she got pregnant right away. I recommend a prenatal pill.
WTF..
Pre-natal vitamins. You can get them from any drugstore. When in doubt, ask your doctor.
This is an exception where a supplement is better than food. Most foods will give you folate instead of folic acid (as in supplement). Folic acid is better absorbed. Get a good quality supplement that combines folic acid w iron
My wife ate folic acid and no other supplements during first pregnancy. During second, no supplements whatsoever, same with third. All pregnancies went great, except the third time her iron level was low as we didn't pay enough attention to eating iron rich foods. Just eat healthy, and definitely do some sort of pregnancy-targeting exercise like prenatal yoga. We also preferred a birth center to a hospital (had babies in both). Finally, make sure to research everything that will be done to your baby and make your own decisions. Especially in the hospital they'll throw any procedure they can at your wife and newborn to make $$$. Good luck!
You have a doctor? Why not ask him/her! This is Blind, not fucking suicide helpline.
Weirdest thread on Blind yet.
