SpaceX - Worth it while Young?
If you get free meals at work, do you take meals home for dinner to save money? What time does dinner usually get served?
I don't even eat the free food for lunch half the time. Gotta get off campus every once in a while.
We have to-go boxes that many people pack up and put in the fridge after lunch to take home for dinner. It’s pretty common.
Yes, sometimes, but saving money is not the reason. Dinner at Google is usually served at 6:30 PM. So if I'm working late, picking up dinner on my way home saves me time. It is also healthy in the sense that it helps me avoid snacking while making dinner at home.
Dinner is generally served at six, but there's always some food available earlier. Sometimes I take a to go box. Sometimes I eat dinner at work. Sometimes I cook at home.
I don't, but a shitload of the same people do. It's sad, really.
I get in early so I try not to be around by dinner time.
I don't but I think it is OK. Some of the items are even labelled grab & go (sandwiches, wraps). See, frugality is not a leadership principle here. You can invite your friends and family to lunch / dinner. They tell you this when you are hired. Overall only a few people do it at any given time so it is peanuts. Not worth for the company to worry about.
Don’t friends/family need like guest badges or something to enter?
I leave two hours before dinner, so no
Sometimes. I see lots of people do this, seems normal.
Tacky move. If you work at one of those places, they pay you enough to go to the grocery store or get DoorDash if you’re too lazy.
Does your company provide free food? Mine does, and a couple people take home catering leftovers. No one thinks it’s tacky or even comments on it.
Leftovers are one thing - OP seems to be inquiring about hitting the cafe and heading home. Yes, I have occasional free food (Olympics, World Cup, etc.) but I leave work food at work.
