My friend did the phone interview with them. She's fresh out of PhD (not machine learning btw). I'm not sure if they consider it "experience", doubt it.

Switzerland is not in the EU

Zillow Group jc04 Dec 16, 2018

Switzerland may not be in the EU, but they do have different visa requirements for EU vs non-EU.

No, they also hire new grads. But the thing is if you're non EU national, you need to impress not just interviewers but also immigration authorities and they are sticklers for papers, an advanced degree (MSc/PhD) is best, but BSc + some yoe works too. No degree, no yoe, no EU passport - auf wiedersehen

Thanks for responding :) Is MTech (Computer Science) + 2 yoe at Msft sufficient to impress immigration authorities?

Yes, should be good enough
