Genentech Oceanside Software Engineering?
I know there is a decent sized Genentech campus in Oceanside, CA but what is going on there has always been a mystery to me. - Are there any development teams there, or are those all in the Bay Area? - If there are any development teams there, does anyone have info on tech stack, compensation, culture? Roommate worked there in 2013. It's a manufacturing plant, almost no R&D happens there. Wasnt much tech culture, think cubicles and paid lunches. He wasn't in software at the time, worked mainly with the engineers that automated the reagent and batch product manufacturing. Most software used there at the time was from 3rd party vendors, and all the interesting software development was happening in SF.
Had a feeling that’s all it was, but could never get in touch with anyone who worked there. It’s a big campus, I figured there might be more than just manufacturing. Thanks for the info!
