I got mixed feedback from my Google interview. My recruiter is trying to find a team match before presenting my package to the hiring committee but so far managers are interested to talk after passing HC. I already provided 5/6 internal referrals and recruiter told me the referrals are strong. Given my situation any chance of passing hiring committee without SOS from a manager?
Did the recruiter mention how many interviewers voted yes vs no?
No he didn’t.
Sometime back I was in a similar situation but I managed to successfully match with a manager to help push it through. Even with that, I was denied at HC
Even with strong internal referrals? :(
I had 4 stellar referrals
WHT level?
L4
It happened with me and I got rejected by HC
What's your YOE? I dont think referrals can have as big of an impact. Folks from Google plz comment.
I’m in the same boat, I haven’t talked to managers yet. Should I glue onto a manager and hope they carry me through HC?
I got mixed reviews. But key is I got one strong hire. That pushed me through
When you say mixed review does that mean at least one of the reviews was no-hire ?
I got 3 leaning no. They were bad interview questions tho - I can say this w my google interviewer hat on. Hc likely judged the same and weighted other interviews higher
Why is Google hiring process so complicated?
Because they want remove all false positives
If you have 5-6 internal referrals, why not ask your referrals to share your resume with their managers?
Got manager’s recommendation already. Going to HC this week. Fingers crossed!
OP how long did you have to wait between on-site and team matching?
I’m in the same boat. Strong from everyone. The hiring manager said “not a good fit for the team at this time”. Recruiter asked me to send over job postings at google that I liked the sound of. (I’m a UX/ Design Program manager 10YOE).
Unlikely. I’ve been on the other side of this, you want a manager to champion your case.
