Google NYC L3 Headcount

Does the Google NYC office have very low headcount for L3? Would it be difficult to get matched to a NYC team as an industry hire L3? Heard they're expanding the NYC office, will this make it easier? https://www.wsj.com/articles/google-plans-large-new-york-city-expansion-1541636579 TC: 160k YOE: 1

I know a lot of internal transfers like moving there and the site is severely limited by space even with the Chelsea purchase.

Do the internal transfers have any trouble moving there at the L3 level? If NYC has no room for an external L3 hire right now would it be a good idea for me to go to a different location for now and then transfer in a year?

Yeah do that. As of this point, should not be too difficult to transfer to NYC internally

It took me 4-5 weeks to find a team match there. Had 4 conversations, 2 others cancelled because the headcount got filled. I Know two others who had to wait longer and they joined some other place. It's tough but needs luck and patience, if you don't absolutely have to be in NY, I'll suggest be open for a few backup locations too

So as long as I'm willing to wait a long time, would I eventually be able to find a team?

Yeah. Be ready to wait 8-12 weeks though with no guarantees

Did you find a team in NYC then? When ?

They opened two brand new Seattle buildings and team matching in Seattle is hard. New campus doesn't imply more headcount. It mostly just means internal transfers and people moving here from older buildings.
