It looks like Google took the lamentations of their employees very seriously after the 2016 election.
Careful, tech folks. You want government regulation? This is how you get government regulation.

Can the phone company shut off your phone if they don't like what you say? No, no they cannot.
I wonder if tech companies were headquartered in Arlington, Texas, run by Christian conservatives, and going around removing Adsense dollars from Vox they would be so adamant on this point?
Consume with pepper and salt.
Is it time to regulate these companies ala the PUC??? Sounds like a great way to stifle the innovation the free market is supposed to foster.
🤔
Even if employees had a vendetta against them, if you violate policies they have the right to act on it. Ultimately this didn’t even work.
If that wasn’t discrimination I don’t know what is, or google quit ad business all together
It's that simple.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all those organizations would come to google’s defense of its discrimination behavior
Google and Facebook are already targets of suspicion from politicians across the spectrum, for exactly this kind of shit. It's one thing to build something with a stated lofty goal of connecting the world. It's another when the illusion of detached neutrality is shattered, and now you're no longer a disinterested spectator or harmless referee---you're a biased participant just like the rest of us. And that paints a target on your back.
It makes sense for google to shut down ad sense from a brand safety perspective. Most brands dont want to appear next to some race bait article on BB
