Congrats, you're a SWE and doing great. But now what....? Back to school? Or does the experience/title now outweigh that? Will you hit an eventual cieling without a degree? If not a degree, where should your efforts be focused? YOE 1yr TC 99k

Please ignore this advice. Money ain't worth it when you have no time, energy, or loved ones to spend it!
Everyone has different needs, goals/ambitions, and passions. There’s no right answer here.
Very true, just looking for opinions based on those in the field with experience.
Most bigger companies have tuition reimbursement for one or two classes a semester, so you can slowly achieve that degree if you want it on the company dime without missing any work.
I should check on that! Though then there is the class attendance and what not. Any online programs that are reputable?
Do you already have a bachelors or no? If you do have a bachelors what is it in?
No, close to a bachelors of general science, emphasis on management.
Experience is all that matters, there is no ceiling (and why would there be one? A college degree says you were trained, experience shows you were trained)
That's what I figured, but I wanted to check.
I don’t see this being an issue unless you decide to take a management track and apply somewhere externally as mgmt.
Ehh... I've led small teams.... I don't do good at herding cats....
Get a degree if you want one personally - not for career. Experience and leetcode matters more.
Mostly what I figured.
If you want Online for the flexibility, WGU is a 100% online college with bachelors and Masters programs in Tech.
Some colleagues have done that!
Sadly, the answer is networking... always have a valuable rolodex of people to call if your professional life takes an unexpected turn.
Just complete it part time after work. Try to do an online program. Always good to have that piece of stupid paper.
Heh... Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but I adready am working with an administration office at a college to see how much I have left based on what I've already done
What college?
