Just got an offer from Grab, TC is unknown yet but likely be in the ball park of 200K (Seattle). What the recruiter knows for sure is the level will be "high G3". I've been clear through the process that I'm looking for something equivalent to Amazon L5 or Google L4. Am I being down-leveled?
Remember their rsu are paper money and may never materialize into real money. Google l4 gets more than 200k in tc i would aim for much more than that due to paper money factor
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely account for that when i negotiate for a higher tc. Meantime, do you know if G3 is a downlevel for me? Or is it that they are just so flat?
G3 is entry level. I am a G3 and I am a recent college graduate.
Much appreciate ur response! What the recruiter told me today (which i doubt is true), is that high g3 is common for 4-5 yoe.. Is that in line with what u see in grab? Seriously thinking im being lowballed
There is nothing like high g3, grab is not that flat. I think the most years of experience I have seen for a g3 is 3. Dude you are from amazon and you have 4-5 yoe, donβt let the recruiter bullsh*t you.
Negotiate for G4. Can you share details of the grab offer with RSUs?
What the recruiter said was 'u find a price and i try to get that approved' so i dont know yet. Basing on what he said tc will be slightly north of 200k
There is no such thing as high g3 , only g3 and g4
Exactly what i thought. Thats why i felt the recruiter tried to trick me into accepting a lowball
Some of our recruiters are unethical ... i have personally experienced it
It depends who is your manager. As always. If s/he told you that you need to work overtime occasionally, it means always.
Grab Seattle interviews like it thinks it's Amazon or Google or Facebook. If you can pass, then you should just work for Amazon or Google or Facebook, for all the reasons mentioned above.
What was your final offer from Grab?
Wtf is Grab
Uber competitor, more popular in SEA.
Well they only operate in SEA, but apparently squeezed uber out of those markets
