My company is paying an opportunity cost for me in DC, 245K...but it seems like there’s no opportunity to advance. I feel like I’m stagnating. Should I try to find a job on the west coast or ride this out until I get my top secret security clearance on the east coast?
Ure crying cuz u have 245k tc?
I just want to advance my career, that’s all.
I know right , he wants his cake and eat it too. Not everybody gets that luxury, I know on Blind it may seem like everybody gets what they want but it’s definitely not the case.
Top security clearance is a big deal to have it on west coast. Not sure about east. Based on what I have looked into so far (been looking into infosec 👀), it would be better to get the clearance.
Who is paying 245k in DC, YOE?

That's great comp for the area. I'm guessing you're in like hardcore contracting as opposed to a prime type place. That's definitely a drawback to contract work, not feeling like you have career progression. Honestly, you have to get into a sector that doesn't purely make.money of the government
Get the clearance.. at least you will have less competition for those jobs
How long does it take anyway, are you cleared secret?
