How many Indians and some Chinese are frustrated that they have to wait forever for getting their green card even though Silicon Valley heavily depends on them and without then it would be very difficult to survive ? It is like indentured servitude. Do you agree if these people get United (which I believe will never happen) this issue can be solved ?
I doubt it will survive for long if all Indians and Chinese leave. Though that will never happen.
Well everyone has a right to decide where to work. And I am sure You or your parents or theirs immigrated here. Also it is not about importance it is about reality.
Lol. If you search Blind’s work visa tag, you’ll see half of the issues are about this. Read up, lots of details there. TL;DR: don’t pine your hopes on the 392 (or many iterations of that bill).
It’s not like indentured servitude. You are free to leave anytime you wish. It’s not going to get fixed. Don’t like the wait? Leave.
> It is like indentured servitude Are you fucking serious man? Nobody is keeping you in chains. Why don’t you go back to India or head to Canada or the UK? You aren’t owed US citizenship
FYI... An indentured servant or indentured laborer is an employee within a system of unfree labor who is bound by a signed or forced contract to work for a particular employer for a fixed time. The contract often lets the employer sell the labor of an indenturee to a third party. Wikipedia
You are free to leave.
I empathise however that is the law of this country. There are other countries who do not have this in place like Canada.
Agree. Wanted to see what people suffering from this think of upgrading the law. Many efforts have been made and lot of support is there for it. Still wondering why it is not fixed yet
See broadcom fixing it for 1 country will make it problematic for the entire world.
The people on this post are extremely hostile. We have free will and we choose a life where we can have a better life. Wanting to improve a process is not called entitlement. Some people have families here and they will have to uproot theirs if the gc doesnt come through. Also, everyday we worry about whether our extensions go through or not. The question is more about having a definitive rule rather than things being up.in the air. A shorter gc process helps employers and employees alike. I do not understand the hostility. 50 percent of the professors who teach at your colleges are Indian and Chinese . Knowledge is certainly not lacking. Unsure why hostility is in abundance
Which school did you go to that half the professors were ind/Chinese. I went to MIT which as a tech school should have more indian Chinese and the ratio there was less than 20%. Additionally less that 20% of students were Indian or Chinese
Yep sometimes I feel sad for the wait, but in general I am fine. It is not my country, I don't get to make the call, keep waiting or GTFO. Disclaimer: still waiting for my GC
Well everyone is fine in general and feel sad sometimes. This sometimes can be more or less frequent depending on what stage of life you are and what you want. One thing you may be wrong saying is that it’s not my country and I don’t get to make a call. You can always go and talk to house representative and senate office and they will listen to you.
they will literally just listen, and that's it.
Well it works but slowly. More people talk more impact it has.
There is a proposal to fix this. The 392 bill unfortunately that will deter the rest of the world.
