Green card processing times

Why is the green card process (in my case is from L1A) taking longer and longer? It seems like processing times are slowing down... I have friends that got the same type green card processed in 4-6 months and mine is taking 14-16 months. Processing center is Nebraska. This is frustrating.

The way the I-485 are being processed is not very transparent when it comes to determining how many people are in front of you/ your number in line. As somebody who just recently got their Green card Approved, I can give you the following hints to get a basic idea: 1. USCIS provides a portal you can lookup the status of your case via your receipt number. https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do 2. For every USCIS office you can check up to which date they process cases. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ 3. Every quarter the I-485 inventory is published which gives you an insight on how much workload the offices deal with and where you might be in the queue of processing. https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/pending-employment-based-i-485-inventory The above mentioned data sources are the closest you can get as to understanding where you might be in line. However, there is no way to tell where exactly one is. You can basically derive an estimation based on the data points you get from these sources. In addition to that you should also monitor the visa bulletin with the cut-off dates, as the amount of green card numbers per fiscal year usually runs out before the fiscal year is over. In that case the USCIS usually puts all cases on hold that were filled after a certain date they decide on. I hope that will help you and get you a litte more clarity on your gc processing time. Good luck!

Any insight on I-140 for Nebraska center as to chance of approval, when to expect response etc? I went through the USCIS url and it says 12-16months

Sounds about right and then add another 6 months delay for the now mandatory interview.

Amazon lDDH24 May 26, 2018

I-140 with premium processing takes only 15 days. There is no interview for I-140, that’s for I-485

Apple vcVg33 May 26, 2018

There is no PP for EB1C, of course the interview is not for i140, which part of “and then” did you miss?

Oracle Tryme May 26, 2018

You could have try for EB2, seems it might be faster for you than EB1 based on above sources
