My buddy had a call with a recruiter from FB for a PM role. She found him on LinkedIn and spoke but as soon as she found out he is on H1-B, she told she can’t move forward as they are not hiring H1 candidates for PM role. Thoughts?
It's really difficult to show PM as a specialty occupation because there's no degree which directly maps to this role.

The moment you get into all this foolishness - hiring only this that, rather than top talent the stock tanks.
PM is never top talent. If people with high school degrees can become SWEs and still get jobs, then anybody can become a PM.
I mean top talent within that job function. I believe research scientists will have same opinion of SWEs. That we are not top talent from their perspective.
We should only be accepting H1-Bs with Masters in Engineering. We have no shortage of entitled Americans that can spend all day sharing their opinions about the work other people should be doing. In fact, this is currently a specialty of the American university system.
That is not that hard to find PMs that don't need Visa sponsorship. I guess it's self explanatory.
