H1b transfer premium processing

Just heard back from fragomen that H1B transfers are not eligible for premium processing now even though there was a news of Premium processing starting from Jan 27th. Any one has more context on premium processing and h1b transfers?

Yes they are right

19th feb is when transfers will be eligible. But this can be pushed out since racist Cissna is being difficult.

There's still no confirmation about 19th right?

Amazon Proud_Dem Feb 6, 2019

Nope

VMware codejunkie Feb 6, 2019

It’s only resumed for capped petitions.

they are right. Cap exempt premium processing should hopefully start in February.

Amazon MikeRoss Feb 6, 2019

Premium processing is resumed for H1B cap applications on Jan 28. Transfers come under cap exempt. The original suspension on Premium processing was until Feb 19, 2019. So wait until 19th for any update

Thank you all, have an outstanding offer from a company n fragomen seems to think it should take about 8 to 10 months for the transfer to complete. Sounds ridiculous to me, but is that the trend these days?

Join on receipt and hedge your risk by having another job offer.

EMC rob0608 Feb 6, 2019

Proud_dem, are you saying join new company on receipt and get another offer while working in new company? How is that hedging risk?

Wells Fargo ub2/uj Feb 6, 2019

Unfortunately that’s the trend..I have seen few people went back to India because they couldn’t get approval in 240 days, due to some additional rfe

How are folks even switching jobs at this time?

Waiting for the transfer

VMware thippali Feb 6, 2019

Which employer waits for 8-10 months,?!

IBM UipK84 Feb 7, 2019

Google, Uber, Facebook and bigger companies should be okay with potentially waiting for that long

Hour about startups? Companies that are not Google or FB or Netflix?

IBM UipK84 Feb 7, 2019

I would say it varies a lot. If you really want to go to a particular company, ask them in clear terms before starting the interview process. Fitbit ghosted me for almost a month after learning I was on H1B
