Any insights/ thoughts on H4 EAD suspension rule?
Relax, nothing will get done considering the stance between Democrats and Republicans. DHS and USCIS need to create and publish the rule before they get the executive order in line. Since Trump doesn't work 25 days out of a month, they will get a appointment of 2020 to just sign that into a rule. That said, don't stop looking for alternatives. When it comes to wooing his vote bank, he will sign this in a day when he starts his 2020 campaign.
Too many inaccuracies. 1) it's not an executive order - it's a regulation. 2) regulation needs to be signed by dhs secretary not trump. Again it's not an EO. 3) trump will sign this in a day (read 2). Do you understand the difference between EO, Regulation and a memo?
Thx for relaxing words. But do u mean theres only 1 more yr left max ?

Difficult to say for certain but likely it will be revoked within 3 months. They might even skip the comment period. Immigration Hawks will finally have an orgasm, after waiting so long. It will have zero actual positive impact in the lives of "savejobs USA", but they'll all feel great about it. Within a few weeks court cases will be filed and the repeal will be blocked (similar to daca) and held up in courts. Will remain in limbo till post 2020 election like much else in this country.
To skip comment period is something I really want DHS to do. That would ensure that they can't enact the regulation for another year. Fairly sure immigration voice, whose strategist was the past assistant deputy AG will sue them for missing the process. If not IV, someone else will. To be honest, I expect DHS to be smarter than that. Will it be sued in court? π―% right. Will lawsuit survive court, well - I am not clear. DHS has authority to issue EAD. They do have right to take it away.
I agree they will get sued for sure. Verdict hard to tell but probably doesn't matter, election is basically the decider/referendum on the anti immigrant approach of the current administration (of which this is a small part). If he wins, anti immigration policies will continue by hook or crook.
