Hey all, I'm going up for interview for a Product Management (PM) position at my company. I'm of an R&D mind but I am the public relations guy (internal and external) in my group. Some of my colleagues have told me to provide some market research, but as a scientist, how do I even get that kind of stuff? Most PMs have technical backgrounds like me and are also outwardly focused. One colleague stressed to come dressed in a suit. Anything else I should keep in mind coming into the interview? As someone "practicing the art" I have some ideas where I can take our product and how we can focus our strengths, but nothing like sales figures or anything like the finance guys would know
Can't answer your ? But how's the TC at agilent
At the R&D HW Scientist level, median salary is ~$125k not including bonus/benefits. I'm only 2-3 YOE and am at $110-115k. This is for PhDs though. For Master's R&D MEs and EEs it's probably slightly more esp with patent bonuses. SWE I can't say except that it's overpaid, they suck in terms of science and their architecture is bad.
