Has anyone travelled back and forth from the US in the 60 day grace period of H1B?

In the 60 day grace period that is allowed for H1B visa holders to find a new job incase of loss of current job is travelling outside and back to the US allowed ? Has anyone done it personally ?

I am sure I have done that during someone’s 60 day grace period, but I am a US citizen.

Joking aside, I tend to trust the wheels of government to honor such things, although if you’re from certain countries, under this government, maybe your reentry would be fraught. Like if you were Iranian or Chinese or from some US terror list/travel ban country

I don’t think it is allowed unless you have a H1b transfer approved. What would you show to the immigration officer ? Why are you going to US when you don’t have an actual job there ? Even if it is allowed (maybe due to valid old company visa on passport), it’s still not safe for sure

You won't be allowed back in

You can only do so if your H-1B visa stamp is still valid and you have an approved petition for the new job or a pending petition that was timely filed. (A petition filed within the grace period is considered timely.)

Yes that’s the case
