Anyone experienced politics and hard time by the manager to make you quit despite all the hard work for reasons such as to hide incompetence, jealousy of your growth and influence. As a manager are you secretly narcissist, have intentionally given a subordinate hard time to protect the throne. Share details and help each other from such .corporate scrutiny.
Okay. Looks like OP edited the post to make it easier to understand. OP: It is time to start looking for another job. Leave this manager behind. Don't bother trying to understand him/her.
Do I leave without job lined up?
NO.
Ditto.
Indeed is full of that
Yes happened to me. Manager made up dumb reason to get me fired despite me actually making progress with his failed initiatives. Basically, employees have no recourse except to let karma take over. You can document and eventually get a lawyer if it’s violating a protracted class
Look up the doctrine of "constructive dismissal". Depending on where you are, they might be breaking the law by creating conditions that are basically the same as firing you.
People quit managers, not companies... in my opinion manager is the most important of any SWE job.
Exactly. I loved my job and coworkers. Until a new manager was hired, who's been horrible and none of his reports support or like him
I have seems this happening many times.
Care to share details
Few of my team mates and I quit the last company totally because of my manager.
It's common if you have hurt your manager's ego. Best option is to find another team or job.
Sounds like you're talking about Amazon's managers!
I'm sorry for whatever you're going through. But your post is a shitshow.
Are you that manager
Just wait for votes from the people who are able to calm down to read and think thoroughly.
