Ended up meeting a guy who worked at a popular tech startup and was talking to him about my business and the work I was doing. He then goes on to say that he would love to NETWORK further and set up a meeting. This meeting was actually a date...He then goes on to talk about how he had sex with this girl at work and laid her across the table. The whole time he was making sexual innuendos and talking about where he would like to take me next and that we should start dating. This was supposed to be a BUSINESS meeting. #MeToo
won’t be helpful if you leave out company/guy name.
That is creepy as hell.
Fcuk..Noway related to this post but I felt that slap!
Crapshot, do a lot of other people share your feelings?
The post had 4 likes and my comment had 18, I'd say yes. #MeToo to me is leveraging a position of power in order to get sexual acts from a subordinate. Example, Weinstein and potential actresses. In this case, the man had no power over the woman. It's not like the consequence of not attending this meeting meant financial or other hardships toward the OP. Further, it's not like OP telling this guy off or leaving would've had any major consequence. Is this guy in the wrong for turning a work meeting into a date? Maybe - a lot of relationships start in work settings. Does this guy have a problem with flirting? Clearly. Did he sexually assualt anyone? No. Happy to hear other opinions.
This.
I totally relate. I had past experience walking into a meeting thinking it was networking while the other end thought it was a date. And it was extremely awkward...
Wow....just wow....
Ugh #metoo.... Mine even brought flower to what was supposed to be a networking coffee to discuss job opportunities
Who talks about sex on a date... sex with another girl, too
Call him and his company out. #metoo Also document as much as possible. Emails, notes, etc.
