Help negotiating BIE Salary and Starting Date
I just interviewed for a Business intelligence Engineer L5 role at Amazon Seattle. Recruiter emailed saying they want to move forward with me. Details to follow early next week. I’m confident Amazon can beat my current TC: 137K. I have a $16K performance bonus and $6K in RSUs vesting in late Feb 2020 at my current job. Can Amazon make it attractive for me to join before March 2020? Would you 1 - join before March by negotiating high TC at Amazon? - please provide tips OR 2 - would you wait until March to join and get your bonus + RSUs from current job? The team at Amazon is new and growing fast. Opportunity for learning and growth. I want to get become a DE or DS in a year. Current TC: 137K (111K base + 16K perf bonus + 10K in RSUs) YoE: 3 Education: masters Location: Seattle

What was the breakdown of your TC?
The max of a l5 BIE is at 160k. So if you were offered around that. You fall into the max bracket which means, you are expected to get promoted or you'll be falling into the risk bracket if you don't perform!
