So I just got this offer from MSFT but they said I had to go through background check with Hireright. I filled the online wizard form that asked for the activity history (work school etc) but I only filled my last three jobs instead of all six. I think my thinking at the time was to give them the minimum required info so as not to delay the process as some of the of those earlier company no longer exists. After speaking to a friend yesterday, I think that might be a mistake as he said i should have provided all job history. Is this a big problem? Shouldn't Hireright contact me if they have a concern with employment history that might be missing. Would they simply fail the check because I entered only my recent work history. I need this job. Has anyone been through this before and made a similar mistake? How did it work out especially with Hire right
KINDLY post TC to remove background check virus from your computer. -Microsoft Support
As long as whatever you put down is legit you should be fine. If you live in California they should also provide an option for you to see the results of the background check.
AFAIK, Microsoft’s Hireright backgroundcheck requires 7 years of your job history. Any option to edit? You should have a contact point at hireright
Yes, what I entered is more than 7 years if I include my current employer
You should be fine. Been in Talent Acquisition for a decade, bg screens follow only what is given.
That is reassuring thanks
Oddly degrees being hand verified and non digital criminal county lookups are as much of a delay as are companies. Some companies use automated verification systems like the work number, others have records. But if you gave 7+ years work history, you should be good.
Don't worry. I did exactly the same. They wanted background of 2 years and that's what i gave them.
If they have a problem or want more information, they’ll ask you for more information, lol.
