He is not joking. I was offered all-phone interview out of college as I got Microsoft offer which I had to decide on within 4 days. I also know others who got actually hired that way

Agreed, didn't pass even phone interview with Netflix because interviewer didn't get me chance to speak mostly. He wanted brute Force, then slightly more brute Force while I was trying to solve it optimally from beginning

    Also ,
Try not to work for a company that
    - will screw you over due to stock growth
    - will screw you over with back loaded vesting schedule
    - will screw you over with refreshers that vest 2 years later
    - espouse frugality as a leadership principal
    - give you only bananas as a perk
    - has no annual bonuses
    - has bad wlb
    - has 3 year vesting for 401k

And most all, an SDM that's been drinking too much company Kool Aid ;)

Curious to know what makes FNG harder than others? Dynamic programming?

Netflix interviews require extensive domain knowledge. This is one company that you cannot Leetcode in. They also pay top of market, and their hiring bar is correspondingly high.

Facebook/Google’s coding questions are not necessarily harder than other companies’, but the bar for passing is higher - in terms of both expectations for solving optimally plus having the desired speed/thinking process/communication/other signals.

Solving all problems optimally but still getting rejected seems to happen a lot for Google interviews.

Agree, the questions asked by FB/G were not leetcode hard, but they expect you to do it very quickly and without missing any edge cases.
