Short story - CRM consultant 8 YOE. working in the US for last 5 years. Indian guy, EB2 filed (at least a decade if not more away from Green Card) Life’s too short and professional life even shorter to sit in limbo - applied for Canadian PR and dang! It came in 19 days from the time I sent in the completed application. Visited both coasts (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver) and found Vancouver much similar to Seattle and can deal with the rain. Freezing temps not so much. Looking for referrals at awesomesauce companies. Help a brother out! P.S. no hate/ no shade for not going back to India. Need to make a few more fistfuls of dollars before I eventually go back (big extended family back home 😊)
Lol “the startups where millions are made” Think about this a bit more. If $$$ is your deal, get a job in FAAANG and you’ll make a million in 3-4 years guaranteed. Now compare that to the fraction of startups that end up well. And compare your opportunity cost.
much better Blind Stars don’t get hired at FAANGs (as evidenced in many posts on Blind). I’m under no illusions about my FAANG-ness 🤣
OP, what was your score and how long did it take you from the time you wrote IELTS to PR ??
Same question
If money is what you want, Toronto pays 15-20% better than Vancouver given exact same job at exact same company.
If money is your main concern-Canada ain’t gonna help you.Purely from a $$$ point of view your better of in the US despite visa issues
True but H1b transfer issues severely restrict mobility and also the ability to take risks at Series A/B startups (that’s where millions are made)
You aren’t going to find many of those startups in Canada. You have a better probability of finding it in India TBH
