Soooo I've been operating a startup in the CE space for a few years now, taking in the ups and downs. Amidst a downturn currently and am looking for a job to pay the bills and keep the company moving forward. However, I realize now that my resume doesn't quite work right anymore. Removing my startup experience just makes for a weird (potentially job-fatal) convo later. My pre-startup experience is in a totally different industry that will have no parts of me having a business.....maybe I'll be a blood boy or Task Rabbit? π° Has anyone faced a similar situation, or know someone who has?
Apply for a PM job in Google, they love drop out entrepreneurs.
Ouch π
Amazon treasures such resumes. Apply for Sr. Product manager roles here at Amazon. Message me if you need referral
I will definitely look into Amazon's PM positions. Thanks for that!
Product management or Business Development is the way to go.
Agreed
I got my Sr. PM role at Amazon because I had a startup in Payments space which did decently but had to shut down. When my startup wasn't doing well, I did everything to make it work and that's how I got a ton of in depth industry knowledge. My managers were really impressed with the depth I had. In summary, leverage your past skill and apply to Product management roles especially in companies like Amazon, Google, FB, etc.

How common is it actually to earn more than 300K TC?
If you had engineering experience I could help you, but sadly without that it's rough.
