How can company like American Express say that we do not sponsor green card?

Amex recruiter reached out to me few weeks ago and started having career conversation. Then they told me that if you are looking for Green Card sponsorship then we can not do that? That was shocking for the company of this size.

They’re red blooded Americans

I believe the policy even with big corporations like AE change year-over-year. It depends on the market. Mostly if they have lots of qualified local candidates line-up, they will be very upfront about that. You’re right; I will be shocked if AE don’t sponsor GC at all.

I was thinking to open their credit card, not anymore! Lol

Why work for AMEX?

Amazon vdQy55 Aug 29, 2018

Well the company literally has 'American' in it. It's pretty self-explanatory..

Apple Dr.Dre Aug 29, 2018

Yeah, why AE? I would pick Visa over it. Much better growth potential for the stocks

It costs companies money to put people through the GC process. Why is it bad that they can choose to NOT support this? If they are getting enough candidates locally, that is there choice.

That's okay for lower skilled jobs but for technical skills they should seriously think about it.

Also, smart is smart. No matter where that person is born. It's ridiculous.
