How do women in tech ( specially Wall St ) feel about their work place ?
Do you feel you’re fairly compensated, treated well ( = equally/fairly) , given similar tasks and assignments as the men in your team, allowed to take charge, make decisions etc ?
Treated very well, in fact would like more diversity (read: straight men) on team. I am not in a tech role, however, so can’t speak for engineers.
No but it’s probably my group. The company overall is really trying but it will take time to cascade it down.
Yes, I feel I am treated fairly and compensated well. Big thing here is as a woman you have to negotiate your salary, both in the initial offer stage and when ready for a promotion. Maybe it helps that I’m not an engineer. I suspect it varies by department and the percentage of leadership that believes in supporting women and men equally.
It’s difficult to negotiate in offers when they tell you you didn’t make this much in your previous job so we’re going to give you 10-30% more only and not what you’re asking for ... luckily that’s changed in NY so recruiters can’t ask for your current pay ... hopefully that will help even out the pay gap at least in the beginning

Are the managers in general horrible people or outright misogynists ?
My last company was a mess. “Culture Fit” meant “Bro but not if you’re a female then you’re just expected to laugh at dirty jokes and not make a fuss” This company I know I’m treated fairly and my compensation is as good, if not better than my male peers (it could be more but I completely lack professionalism).
AirBnB is good, but it’s the first place I feel like I’ve been treated equally. I can’t believe it’s 2018 and we still have to ask this question...
I feel they treat me fairly in current team. Not in previous team. I had a manager from India that was a misogynist. I observed a lot of Indian men at Microsoft are like that. Is that cultural?
Not surprising, unfortunately. I'm Indian and I try to avoid Indian male managers. My current manager is terrible and he's an Evangelical Christian from the South, which I suppose is also a cultural issue.
I think most people ( from anywhere in the world ) who are a bit too communal / blindly religious lack empathy and therefore are horrible bosses ....
I'm good so far, but I haven't been here long so I'm waiting to see
yes, my experience has been this and i’m very grateful - it’s not universal at adobe but I think the overall equality culture is positive
