Hi Roku. Bring the twitch app back. You’re not allowed to leave until you do
Hulu LA or SEA? Totally different culture. Hulu LA used to be a brofest. They treat their employees great, good work life balance, fun. To be honest not the smartest people. Pretty, funny, kind of creative, but seriously not smart. It is what the product is though. Not the place to really build your career if you want to be taken seriously.
Oh also the roku team intimidated a few devs.
The SEA office is fairly small and everyone knows almost everyone. It's largely client work, so a lot of people here work very closely together. There are a few backend services here, and they like to get their hands dirty. The tooling might be bare bones compared to something like AWS but if you like getting into the nitty gritty of things, you can work on a wide range of stuff. We also recently rebuilt the a lot of the stack, so there's a lot of stuff to be done, especially with live tv
Are you looking for role in Seattle or LA? Roku client app development is in-house now vs few years back it was done by Roku.
How is working at Roku? Why do you want to leave? I heard that place is nice!
