How is morale at FB?

Despite recent events, wonder if it is business as usual at Facebook? How is morale there with employees or even much discussion about the issue? IMO, the ‘scandal’ isn’t much of a scandal, rather Cambridge inappropriately used data. Media loves to blow things out of proportion.

Contractors don’t care as they don’t own stocks.. Employees and new hires are pissed and whispering to each other how they lost a lot on paper.. While others are just enjoying the free food..

Wonder if it’s a wake up call on why they work there? Reality is no one is going to say to their kids, “hey so I helped fine tune this disaster called facebook” or build or revamp or whatever.

Facebook Exxon Apr 3, 2018

Erm... i would find it harder to explain to my kids why am I working at fitbit :)

There are no serious answers here, so I’ll go. There are plenty of morale boosting posts, particularly from higher ups, along with cheerleader responses to them. But there has been definite damage done to the morale of a lot of people. Most people realize the media is biased against FB and things have been exaggerated, but it doesn’t feel good to have everyone hate you and see all the anti-FB vitriol online. Elon being a douche didn’t help either. :)

Are you worried it’s going to be harder to attract or retain talent and this will cause a spiral downwards? I bought FB at its low so I’m hoping not.

I doubt it, the money and perks are too good. But the news cycle against FB isn’t going to end soon, and that might make it harder to retain more senior talent.
