Do you get the 35h work week + 5weeks with French holidays ? If you work more than 35h do you get the additional 3weeks of vacations ? How is the pay? TC:135k/1yoe San Diego
Yes, lots of vacations and 35h weeks. Pay would be about half of what you get in Bay area/Seattle.
Half pay cut would still be very nice, knowing that I will get free healthcare and services, retirement benefits, no need for car/insurance, and low costs if I want to start a family and of course those long vacations to travel around France and Europe
Low (Compared to US) as most of Europe except Zurich. Not the place to go if your #1 priority is money. Paris is also a very expensive city. WLB depends on company.
Do you get less vacations in google Zurich than google Paris ?
5 weeks vacation but not 35 hour week. Week is more like 40 hours. And as your time is not clocked, you get additional PTO called RTT (“Reduction du Temps de Travail”). In many cases these are 11 more days per year, with some restrictions. Sometimes one or two of those RTT days are imposed to you (often to bridge a bank holiday with a week end). You also cannot accumulate PTO year over year.
Thank you for answering! It is for sure tempting and I think I will at some point prefer to take a 50% pay cut and enjoy the French life.
Right so 7-8 weeks PTO is the norm. Hell I’d take a 50 percent pay cut to work theee hours
