I’m considering applying for a position at FIRST in Manchester, NH. Reviews on Glassdoor are pretty mixed, so I thought I’d post here and see if I can get a few more data points. I’m ok with lower salary (it is a non profit, after all), but I would like to know what the work/life balance is like and what opportunities there are for career growth in the organization.
Are there any better options in NH? I’d imagine no
Glassdoor is pretty accurate in my experience.
Do you have experience with/passion for FIRST programs? I imagine the job would be far more enjoyable if so.
I do, actually. I’m an alum of their program and have some experience volunteering since then.
Full of liberals
Curious why you say that. I feel like much of the early FIRST community hails from defense contractors and auto makers which tend to lean conservative (however, I don't know much about the political leanings of FIRST staff and leadership).
The keynote last year before the world championships matches start was spent bashing Trump instead of talking about kids, stem and robots.
