How many people here have been with there company for over 10 years?

I have heard of some people at Comcast who have worked for our company for over 20 years...How does one come to that kind of decision? Did you know from the beginning that you were going to be a lifer? Do you just seek stability? Not trying to offend anyone...Just genuinely curious as to why people decide to stay with a company for so long...

A lot of people got acquired by Comcast during acquisitions Some people have been climbing up the corporate ladder at a desired pace. I've been with the company for 7 years and I'm here because of the people. They are great to work with and projects are both challenging and interesting

It's a big push every time you start a new job. Lots of stress. Often times you'll take a hit on vacation time when you switch too. It's usually not much of a big deal if you are moving into something you really like, but in reality there is always a part of it that you won't like and they don't tell you about that part until you have made the change.

Not 10 years, but I have been with 2 companies for 8 years each. I guess it is just the interest for the new things that happen within the company and the job satisfaction of fully seeing something you built go to production. And I cannot discount the hint of unnecessary loyalty that most of us have.

Visa, gc issues . And yes if these don’t apply to you , you will never understand the pain and sacrifices 😂😂

Cisco vLVT13 Aug 12, 2019

Arent u able to move to another company that is willing to sponsor ur gc?

Cisco etCisco Aug 13, 2019

Cisco does the carrot thing constantly. The LRs are periodic which screws it up. The only reason people put up with it is that they are marginal and mostly couldn’t get in somewhere better.

Usually people stay for long if the work culture is relaxed and flexible.

Going on 8 years. I have a few family and family friends who have been here 18+ years. A lot of families here as well. I know of several families with 3 or more people, including mine, who have been here for years. When you find a great company with an amazing culture and benefits, there's no desire to leave.

T-Mobile A-b-c-d-e Aug 12, 2019

What’s amazing about the culture?

T-Mobile EGPt56 Aug 12, 2019

D&I is a big deal and they actually live it rather than try to get their tally marks in. Nearly every boss I've had has been really big on prioritizing family (and the few that haven't are no longer here,) they care about mental health, etc. I've never worked anywhere that actually tries to take care of their employees like they do here. And I've seen people let go because they weren't upholding the values that leadership says they stand by.

Been with the company 2 years but lots of people here that have 20+ years and a few 30+ years. Guess it depends which part of the company you work in as well.
