Comment degree, what you studied, TC, and whether you think the debt you accumulated was worth it
I wonder how much of the no debt is rich parents vs lucky income streams vs scholarships π€
Donβt forget about financial aid too
And foreigners
Since people here are with different age and many of them are already working in tech for several years, the question is useless. The right question would be what was your debt when you graduated.
true. this is what I meant. should have been more specific
BS Chemical Engineering, BA Economics. ~15k debt on graduation day. Worth it, imho
Iβm surprised there are so many folks without debt. I guess the amount of privilege tech chads have is staggering.
Not every one here is an american. I studied for free, for instance.
Nah - no debt means either they are immigrants or went on scholarships .
Zero debt. Working as a research and teaching assistant means all my tuition was paid, plus I got $1800 monthly salary and health insurance.
CS - Zero debt. School was paid for 100% and then some through a combination of government grants, scholarships, and fellowships.
Undergrad was mostly paid through scholarships and working. I had about 6k in debt when I graduated and paid it off in the first few years. Grad school was covered with a stipend and a working spouse, so no debt from that. Both were worth it and I was really lucky to get a great education for little $$.
No debt out of undergrad thanks to working and scholarships. $150k of debt out of business school. Worth it. Salary differential allowed that to be paid off pretty quickly.
What was your before and after salary for mba? Did you go to a top 10?
Yes, top tier program. Before mba was around 90k and I'm at $350k a year (will likely be 400k+ with stock appreciation and refreshers). Immediately out of bschool wasn't that big of a jump but I was $200k+ a year or so out of school.
Over $100k debt for business school. Totally worth it for the salary and career increase. TC $375k

Why no one cares about the lives lost in Gaza, Israel and busy in their own lives?
MBA, marketing. Well worth it considering pre and post MBA salary difference. TC 165
