I was just wondering how often layoffs happen in a company such as riot. I've read through glassdoor reviews, but i don't put 100% faith in all of them positive or negative. I'd prefer hearing from someone on the QA side of things. Since that's usually what companies cut first when downsizing. This doesn't mean anyone with relevant information isn't welcome to share their knowledge, though. All information is welcome. I'm not new to games, but i like to get as much information about who I'm working for, since we are all vetted before employment. Thank you!
Thank you for your responses. I appreciate them.
QA is systematically laid off in other companies from what I hear. It's a games company thing that sounds awful from when I spoke to my friend in QA that worked for a large AAA studio. Crunch and then get fired only to apply for your old job two days later. Sounded awful. His reason why Riot is a great place to work is because QA is not managed that way.
Thank you! I know how the crunch and layoffs go after seeing them first hand. Its pretty shitty to be honest. These responses helped get rid of some concerns.
Obviously do your due diligence. I'm like 99% sure about this. But I am not in QA
We had a series of layoffs in 2015 I believe, mostly in Europe and Asia. Sometimes certain teams experience cleansing operations, like what is happening now in IT / Information Security.
