How to defer acceptance
I have an offer from AWS. Have interview scheduled at Google next week. What is a good strategy to keep AWS warm till I get Google decision.

Google decision may take several weeks. Worry is recruiter may pressurize to sign or they may take back the offer.
I appreciate your offer and I'm excited about the opportunity. It seems like a great fit. I'm waiting to hear back about a similar opportunity at Google. If you were able to offer me X, I'm prepared to accept immediately. If you can't make that happen, I'll need some more time to gather the data necessary to make my decision.
You should have timed it better. You won’t have an offer in hand from google for quite a while. Frankly if you make Amazon wait that long, they’d be perfectly right to dump you. You’re showing you aren’t really that interested in them. If you had already interviewed with google and were at the team matching stage, then sure. You can ask for a week or two. But at this point you’ve screwed it up, and need to decide if you want Amazon or not.
you’ll probably just have to take the job at amazon then quit if google finally comes through with something better
Who the hell does that?
Almost 80% people. It’s called employment at will for a reason. Sure, it looks bad, but it looks bad even if company fires you after 3 months. So do what’s best for you.
Tell them you have to wait Google's answer.
