I joined Facebook in August 2017 and was on maternity leave from December , planning to come back to work early April. Postpartum or whatever it is , I am getting anxious about coming back to work. Can someone let me know on proper channels we have at FB to find a mentor who could help me with coming back to work ?
What?!
What ?
This post is open to all.. I wish I can be a mentor to you but FB rejected me onsite last year and the dream to become your mentor is quashed :(
Haha...I'm anxious but still in sane mind ...so answer is NO !! FB is super supportive to employees.
Time in pregnancy beats timing the pregnancy...
Facebook is a fucking facade. There have been multiple shadow layoffs of perfectly fine talent to satisfy the ego of incompetent middle management. A friend was recently managed out without any PIP or poor performance ratings. Their manager was a female who was not only incompetent but entitled as well. So please stop displaying this shameless dance of Facebook is great bullshit. Facebook is not different from any other large corporation, probably worse because at least the others don’t beat their chests claiming to be ideal work culture.
Interesting perspective !!
There is on the internal learning site a section for lean in-, women only, peer mentorship groups usually guided by very senior team members. Looks like there a bunch of mentorship opportunities. Good luck
Do you mind if I pm you on blind to know more details?
Do you have a chapter of Women in Tech at FB or a similar Employee Resource Group you could reach out to?
FB is an awesome place for women , there must be multiple chapters out there, it's just that I don't know about them
