How to get interviews at hedge funds?

How do most people get interviews at hedge funds? I've tried applying online and on LinkedIn with no response whatsoever. I have interviewed with a couple before through headhunters but I feel like a lot of headhunters are not that great in terms of providing you information. Are headhunters the only way to get interviews at these places? If so, which firms do you think do a good job of this?

Recruiters kinda help but honestly coming from Bloomberg I don’t think you should have problems getting an interview at the majority of the firms assuming your work is in C++. If you look around Linkedin you’ll find tons of ex BBGers in a lot of firms. Anecdotally my friend who was at BBG for 2 years got interviews and offers at Citadel and DE Shaw. You should probably cast a wider net though as the total number of hires of all the hedge funds combined per year is probably fewer than any one of the FB/G/Amzn/Msft. Apply to props as well as hedge funds and apply to places in Chicago as well.

I don't think I should have a problem either. I have headhunters reaching out to me with these hedge funds all the time. But when I apply myself online, it feels like no one looks at those applications. And it's really hard to know if the headhunters you work with are good. Trying to see if anyone has good references
