Though you found a loophole to do it legally it's hardly ethical. I hope to never seek out specific candidates based on gender or race but rather seek out new recruiting tactics that will improve diversity naturally without cherry picking by race and gender.
What was done in my opinion was sexist, discriminatory recruiting. If I had hoped to work there I'd consider taking legal action.
