I think my offer was based on $6 billion valuation, and now it’s at $16 billion. My TC would’ve been $450k. Who else f’d up and missed out on opportunities like this? Edit: it’s now trading at a frothy $30 billion, so that would’ve been like $600k TC. It’s crazy how much tech TC is luck (or stock picking skill if you believe that exists)
I bought a $2 Powerball ticket a while back and lost. I could have had $450M+ had I chosen the right numbers.
As an analogy, that’s terrible - I hope you can figure out why.
Uhh..more like you had 1/2 of all the powerball tickets and none of them were the winning combo.
Dont sweat it. You made the best decision you could based on the information you have. Goal in life is to stay happy and I'm sure you've done ok at dropbox. I say from experience because I left a startup that exited 18 months after I quit and I lost 100k's worth of cash had I stuck around.
I turned down putting 5k in Bitcoin at $10 a coin. Go figure.
Be proud for not contributing to the distraction economy.
Or he could’ve joined to fix it. Perspective.
Näiveity at it's best
You still have chance...join Albertsons
Sounds like OP makes poor decisions. I doubt Albertsons would even call them back.
This evaluation is part of the whole IPO bubble. Question is if you could cash out before they all crash.
Its direct listing.. you can cash out from 1st minute
Bro hindsight is always 20/20 Life rewards you based on the risks you take. Sometimes they pay well. Sometimes they don’t. In your case you didn’t take the risk. No point feeling bad about it now.
Slack is not profitable. You made a right decision. It might go up after going to public. But eventually its a looser
It jumped in value after going public
Stop being jealous
You can guess his TC. Use logic. His TC would be 450k at Slack being 16B. Which means he turned down the offer when slack was 6B for something slightly comparable at Amazon. Probably 250-300k by my estimation
