If deported, where to go next?

If the H1-B changes materialize and you are deported (or self-deport), where would you go?

Oracle bchinkski Jan 2, 2018

While(1) self.fuck();

Amazon hedonist Jan 2, 2018

Hehe. In all honesty im pissed about trump. The reason we hire H1B is because there isnt enough americans qualified to do the work. How the fuck is the work gonna get done by Americans when we dont have enough skilled workers and education is increasingly cost prohibitive. Its a fucking joke. He wants America to go down

Imagine that if there is mass migration to other countries, there could be another donald trump there and tgey may chnage their laws too. Where will you go next? Its wisest to go back to your own country and start something on your own. You can always be a freelancer and make good money living in your home country and making money in $$$

Canada is the second best option pay wise. You'd be getting a somewhat similar pay than Bay Area. Toronto is booming, almost all major tech companies have offices there including Fb, Google, Amazon, Microsoft etc.. It's much cheaper than SF as well. You can get a Canadian green card pretty easily (1-2 years). Once you have that, you can even go back to the US on a TN-visa. Your employer doesn't even need to sponsor you for it, you just show the immigration officer at the airport your job offer and you're all set. You could also use this to get a US green card faster.. Get your company to transfer you from TN visa to another kind of visa like L or h1b and you no longer will be in the Indian 80 year queue. Canada will never have immigration like the US, so don't worry. The conservative party is the only party that would try to mimic Trump, but unlike here in the US.. You can't really fear monger in Canada (Hence why conservatives lost the last election). By the time conservatives come back into power, you'll be a permanent resident so the laws won't affect you.

TN visas are only available to citizens of Canada, not green card holders

Salesforce ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ Jan 2, 2018

Get your Canadian citizenship than.. Takes 4 years. Still beats waiting 80 years. The other option is the L1 visa.. Work in Canada for Facebook for 1-2 years and get sponsored for L1 visa.

Canada - Express Entry could give you instant permanent residency. Dubai - very good temporarily, and no taxes. As long as you can get a proper eng job (possible at Palantir and Apple). If you don’t plan for new kids in the next n years, spend n years in Dubai. Work for American companies, not local ones. Germany - gotta learn German, generally speaking. It’s not too easy. Singapore - meh, it’s ok as a temporary option. Coding under the table - Unless you want to give blowjobs to the person who’s paying you, don’t do this.

Dubai has high wages in many fields, particularly for American companies, and most importantly has NO taxes. If you calculate how much you end up paying in taxes in the US - federal, medicaid sales tax, state tax, city tax, capital gains tax - that's a HUGE. And you won't need to keep hearing Bernie Bros tell you that you're not paying your "fair share". It's also a shorter flight to China, India and Europe.

You can literally visit India every weekend. Low cost airlines, it’s a 2.5-4 hr flight. Europe is 5-7 hours away, but China is 8-9 hours away not very short.

If one is so desperate for India, they should just work there.

Apple Kugdbhfhjb Jan 2, 2018

Bangalore is booming I've heard.

Google YourVP Jan 2, 2018

LOL, who wants to move to Bangalore other than returning Indians

Toptal 6️⃣🔢🔟6️⃣ Jan 2, 2018

Bangalore must be booming. All bad ones are abroad. Only beat have stayed.

Amazon Himiko Jan 2, 2018

Canada as a temporary destination if I don't want too drastic of a change. So it is either home or Canada then. China has the second biggest IT industry in the world after all, though I prefer the lay back style in Western countries more, but that is a bonus not essential.

Cisco genesiz Jan 2, 2018

Bangalore real estate prices will skyrocket with so many Indians returning. Damn, opportunity of a lifetime
