Canadian salary is lower than Indian salary if you take COL into consideration. I would go back if visa is an issue or I’m tire of waiting

Are you sure about this Rajjj ? I need to make a decision

Amazon Rajjj Jul 29, 2019

Yep. I have friends working in Amazon Vancouver and Toronto. After tax take home is half of the same level in Seattle. But home prices are insanely higher than Seattle. They can barely save even though they live in an apartment in suburban

Why canada is better than india? Safe life, women security, future of kids, better standard of living, clean air and water, better future for kids thinking about insane competition in india, even if you dont earn much have healthcare. Can travel, better passport value etc etc

Yup. On the counter point: (India v Canada) - zero visa hassles - lower cost of living - less racism / Canada-old-boys-networkism - cheap labor - family proximity - better schools - growing gc/startup scene

Canadian salaries are a joke. You can earn a lot more in India considering COL and tax. Plus, be near to family. Canada weather is too harsh. Opportunities are less in Canada, forget US but they are even lower than India. I personally don't see a compelling reason (people say standard of living but waking up in snow for 9 months a year & paying millions of dollar for apartment at that salary is not something I personally feel as high standard of living).

"too" - using words that won't add more information.

Toronto is a great city to raise a family. But it is expensive, salary is lower than bay area (about 60% if Bay area taking currency into account). You can live a pretty comfortable life on a tech salary, not worry about visas, try doing a startup while not worrying about healthcare. People from over 190 countriesivw in Toronto - You will feel welcomed in that city and not just 'tolerated'. It is also a much safer city and country in general than the us. Winter lasts from December to March and isn't very pleasant - the other seasons are amazing though. So it depends on what you value.

Canada is a shithole country. USA will annex within 3 years

Why india is preferred over Canada? Near to relatives and better social life, less tax, less harsh climate, less depression, if you have money start new start ups, less work stress, booming economy, easy chance of getting work force

Amazon hejendhrdi Jul 31, 2019

Near to relatives sounds like a giant curse to me lol. Also competition in India for jobs is insane.

Expedia Group miserable Jul 30, 2019

How we will get it as a backup? Living in US?

Amazon vDgePj Jul 30, 2019

It is not back up. You must either move to Ca, or revoke PR.
