Trying to be more more knowledgable about this. This headline seems very charged to me. What are the real stories? > Hindu nationalist Narendra Modi scores resounding victory in Indian general election, securing second five-year term https://twitter.com/bbcbreaking/status/1131506773561630721
Is he basically Trump?
Views are absolutely correct. Sad to see world is moving in this direction
Description seems accurate when he allows stuff like this https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2018/apr/12/killing-of-muslim-girl-india-hindu-religious-tensions
In a country of a billion and a half people, this seems like a very tragic but a anecdotal example. Of course I could be wrong since I don’t know a lot about this, but is there is a systemic concern?
He allows? Media is super biased. Situation on ground is actually reversed.
This is all bs and bbc should be banned from publishing news about India and the state of India
Fake news, right?
Not sure if you are Indian or know anything about India ... I will not call it fake news ... but also look at 1984 riots when earlier governments ruled ... and many other such cases ... I hope you are smart enough to know how much the news can be biased based on what it’s fed
Oh BBC just branded him as Hindu nationalist. INC must have some connection with BBC.
Fake news, BBC sucks.
He has a big fan following . But more importantly the opposition is super weak. They don’t have powerful candidates so it’s more of people not wanting Rahul Gandhi
Har ek baar Modi Sarkar.
For the first time in Indian political history, rampant issues like inflation and corruption were never talking points before election. Media houses like TWP, NYT, Guardian, BBC are just reporting with their eyes closed.
People gonna talk talk talk .. bbc can say whatever they want ... India is shining and growing after a long long time under modi... it’s good he won
Yeah I just wanna learn more. Is the media being dishonest about him like they are with Brexit and trump? What, in your opinion, are the best and worst things about modi?
I think it’s biased .... there is a endless list of thinks that he did for the people of India and for making India as a strong country in the global picture .. India has been Ruled by corrupt politicians who looted billions of dollars of public money before him , in his prime minister ship in the last 5 years - developments in the country have increased multifolds , solar panels in the remotest villages to solve the basic needs of water , electricity has been solved , like for example India launched their first successful satellite to mars , even before nasa did it , bbc and other media did not even mention it. There are many others like these , he made India such a strong ally to all the countries and at the UN summit India has a strong voice now because of great alliance and have crushed terrorism from Pakistan and also China borders . Before him the country was being divided and ruled by people based on cast , religion , in a way I feel people are now getting educated and voting not based on family history but on what has been done by the government for their benefit and the country’s benefit Bad things , well I will say am a die hard fan of him so may not have too many. He did bring out all the black money by doing demonetization , lot of people lost their black money so they will complain it as a bad thing , lot of people will term it as a religious victory ( hindu religious party) but 30% electorate votes are by Muslims and they even voted for modi ... so that logic by the opposition that modi is a Hindu party is all biased ... Big opposition party congress who spoiled and ruled India for 40+ years have used earlier Cambridge analytica for similar corruption and other cases too. Modi in the last 5 years doesn’t have a single corruption charge doesn’t own anything personally and has no family and worked tirelessly for the country - literally at his age I won’t be able to follow 10% of what he does in his daily routine
