Infra / DevOps engineer TC & tech interview difficulty

In tier 1/2 companies, is the devOps/ infra engineer TC similar to regular SWE TC? With cloud services now becoming the norm for Tier 1/2 companies, a lot of day to day work involves leveraging S3 / DynamoDB / etc instead of maintaining your own DB’s. With GKE, Cloud functions and Lambda, you don’t even have to worry about maintaining instances. System design and architecture seem more important in a new hire than just solving LC med-hard in 30 min. That said, is the tech easier in terms of LC? Or am I way off, and it’s just a regular SWE requirement with different duties? @Pinterest
