My cousin recently interviewed(onsite) with Intel which went pretty well. They informed him that he will have next round of interview but so far they have not scheduled it. Its been a week now. How long do they usually take to respond. Is it a lost cause?
I haven't seen a 2nd round interview process, but I've been there only a year. However, one of the 5 college candidates in my pool (3 hired) was given an offer after 4 months. Having an interview history helps, because more positions may open. Intel plans out hiring expansions well in advance, so they interview people often. This probably applies only to college grads.
He has close to 10 years exp and he interviewed for Altera division.
That group is going through a reorganization right now. I would have them be patient.
Stay away from Intel... Don’t waste years of your career figuring out what everyone else who is already here is telling you, it isn’t worth it as a company right now. Likely, this position will be closed before they ever officially hire for it or already has and they are waiting for the “next” FTE req to open for you to “interview” for and slide into the new req.. This could be months though. It was a 6 month hiring process when I joined, thankfully, I’m out of here soon myself too. If you let friend is a hardcore HW guy, maybe Intel will work.. But anything outside of that, you are better off doing somewhere else.
I am wondering what companies are better for hardcore hw guys
ANG ... Apple, Nvidia, Google.
Just reach out to the recruiter
My process from first interview to offer was 8 weeks
How much time did they take between onsite interview and confirming that you got selected?
Probably 2.5 weeks
It took them 2 months to get back to me after on-site. Chill. They are glacially slow. But consider other companies. No one I know who works here wants to be here. You’ve been warned.
Unless your cousin is a hardcore hardware, Intel is a lost cause
Yes, the group is going through a massive leadership plus teams re-org, they dont know what and how they want to sell. I have never heard of second round of interviews at Altera. I have interviewed a lot of senior candidates for IC roles.
Its been 2 weeks and no word yet. He emailed one of the person who initiated interview but no word from her yet i believe.
Take it as a sign from God. Move along. You’re not missing anything. More like dodging a bullet.
Yup, Intel is a lost cause.
