Hey all! I'm looking to interview at these companies and probably more: Google, Facebook, Apple, Stripe, Lyft, Uber, Airbnb, LinkedIn. I haven't interviewed at these companies before and I'd really appreciate some tips around scheduling and timelines for these top companies (e.g., company X process take long so schedule early, or company Y typically needs an answer to an offer days after extending an offer so schedule a little later). I'm looking to lock in a position around Oct to start in Jan so I can take some time to travel, so I'd also appreciate some advice on when I should start applying (I was thinking in 3 weeks and taking week long PTO in Sep/Oct to do onsites) This question has probably been asked 100 times, but either blind search sucks or I suck at searching so links to past posts would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance! TC: ~210K YOE: 2 (L5/SDE 2)
What does 'M' mean?

Start leetcoding now hardcore if you haven’t already. Ping recruiters in September, set up phone screens at the end of the month. Then do your onsites in October, and give yourself at least a day’s break between each on-site. So take two weeks off if you get into onsites with all of those or most of them. The slowest company is Google and it could take a month in some cases with them to do team match and negotiate an offer after the on-site.
Very helpful, thank you!!

FANGMULA but I like FAANGMAUL or MAULAFANG
put LinkedIn last given their interview loop and team matching timeline :)
Are you implying they are quick? I’ve had a very very slow process with them
They are slow and take their own sweet time like you said @hypadm. I was sitting on 2 offers and yet they didn’t speed up. When I asked the recruiter, he said that they have a slow process and to apply last. I am just sharing his same comment since I take it as we take our own time and you should just be very serious about LinkedIn and be willing to wait :)
